Im getting my copy friday in Seattle. I am already a bit to excited about the next book probably has in store like Hempril and Foraker as an R&D team. Plus they are going to get all the theory on streak drive tech.

@23 Amazon sent me my copy last week on the 16th.
@19,20,21,22 It was fixed, as was the Prichard/Prichart spellings. Since the eyes are also described as ‘tawny’ earlier in the book, I am guessing that a light golden brown would be the right color.

My impression has always been that for eyes “topaz” is a light golden brown. My recollection is that her hair is platinum white.

Prichard or Prichart has topaz eyes, according to Chapter 7, if anyone cares. From Wikipedia:

“Pure topaz is colorless and transparent but is usually tinted by impurities; typical topaz is wine, yellow, pale gray or reddish-orange, blue brown. It can also be made white, pale green, blue, gold, pink (rare), reddish-yellow or opaque to transparent/translucent.”

So what is her eye color? Only her opthamologist knows for sure.

Um, I also see that Prichard & Prichart are used interchangeably in this snippet, at least.

Green with envy (purple and gold with joy)! My book does not ship until Monday so I will not begin reading until late in the week, if then. I just got Threshold and I am reading the last Steig Larsson book, which will take days to finish. I am having trouble prioritizing.

Jeff, David Weber has said that there is a Haven Napoleon.

Much earlier he said that we had met that individual.

Based on when he made that comment, some believe he meant Thomas Theisman.

Some of the logic for Theisman = Napoleon is that Napoleon restored the French Monarchy with him as Emperor while Theisman recreated the Old Haven Republic.

Personally, I think McQueen was a Weber “joke” toward people who were trying to guess where he was going to take the Honorverse.

Of course, he fooled me about McQueen. [Wink]
