@4 The work that Eric does with good writers like David Weber, KD Wentworth and Ryk Spoor is very good work. The problem with DeMarce is that she should be writing the 1632 newspaper's gossip and local weddings column. After The Dreeson Incident and bits of the Bavarian thing, I won't buy any 1632 books if she has co-authored or authored them. They are not alternate history but alternate history gossip.

As for slowing down, I think he is trying to catch up after some health problems. Live long and thrive, Eric.

I'm really enjoying this story, and I must say that I'm relieved. After some of Eric Flint's recent efforts - in particular, the horrible "1635: The Dreeson Incident," written with Virginia DeMarce (though not just that book) - I've been afraid Flint was spreading himself too thin.

I still think he needs to slow down and concentrate on quality, not quantity. He's a lot better author than what he's been showing us lately. But I'm enjoying this more than most things he's written recently.

I'd think Jao would be surprisingly vulnerable to that.

I wonder if the Jao ever developed standardized boarding tactics? At the ranges their ships fight at its probably a waste of time, but the idea of Jao Marines makes me smile.

You know in the beginning I didn't really like Kaln krinnu ava Krant all the much, but now she's slowly becoming one of my favorite. She's one of those character you just can wait to see what other things she'll be surprising find interesting in this new stage of her life. Let the good times roll on.
