1632 Minicon – 2010 at NASFIC
The 2010 Minicon for 1632 writers and fans will be held as part of NASFIC. Nasfic is the convention held in North America when the World Science Fiction convention (WorldCon) is held outside of North America. WorldCon 2010 is being held in Melbourne, Australia.
Eric Flint is the Guest of Honor for Reconstruction. Reconstruction is hosting NASFIC 2010, so it only makes sense for the 1632 folks to gather there. As always, as many as possible of the core writers for the series will be there. Please plan on coming.

Is any German publication of the 1632 series planned ?

Considering how much of 1632 takes place in semi-historical Germany, I think it would be appropriate to publish the series in German.
Recognizing the difficulty of getting accurate translations, I would like to see some informed comments from contemporary German historians.
Particularly: how does Virginia DeMarce’s read on 17th Century German history and politics compare with current scholarly understanding. (Yes, I know she has a Ph.D. in history in the period, but
her extensive exposition of the “begats” bores me out of my mind, and intuitively makes me wonder
if she really understands what was really going on.
