Dear Eric, ever since Charles sold the French North America for a piddling amount of plague-ridden mercenaries, and Richelieu reinforced Frontenac with more soldiers, I had been worried that the French would keep all of North America. Did you know that the French had a base in Florida, but had to leave. The only thing that gives me hope that they won't be able to stay is that the French population in 1763 was only 70,000, where at the same time the English colonies had a population of three million. And try as you will I don't see how you can have any decent (meaning a limited monarch with a parliament) The only good Frenchman I know of back then is Gilbert, Marquis de Lafayette, whom you put in 1824 as a small part. Speaking of which, have you ever though of doing a alternative history in which Davon and Murat are killed early on and Lafayette is not captured by the stupid, bloody, keeping Italy split apart, Austrians. In this world he would help found a constatutional monarchy.

She stepped through yet another door into an absolutely magnificent office overlooking downtown Siena, the capital of the planet of New Tuscany. Several people were waiting for her.
President Alain Boutin, the official head of state of the New Tuscany System, stood in courteous greeting behind his shuttle-sized desk as she entered. System Prime Minister Maxime Vézien, the real head of government, turned from the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the capital city of Livorno...

It's bad enough with DW alternately using system and planetary names, now he is using two names for cities.
