When I want Grantville soap opera, I read an issue of GG. When I buy a novel, I want more centralized action not chapter after chapter of "meanwhile back at the ranch." I'm with JJ on this one. Loved the Baltic War and really liked the Italy-based novels too. Ram rebellion, which is what I suspect this is a sequel to, just didn't do it for me. I skimmed a lot on that book and I think I'll be doing it with this one too. I could not put Baltic War down and same goes for Cannon Law and Galileo Affair. (1st two are givens.) Wish we could get past 1634 as a year. There are 4 books with that as the year of action.

I enjoyed "1632" and "1633" very much. I also enjoyed the first Ring of Fire anthology and the Baltic War. Other than that, I believe this series has run out of steam. Or maybe lost direction. The Demarco collaborations are definitely not for me. I am not saying she is not a good writer. I just do not like the material. This has gone from an action series into something I find rather boring. I would rather read about Lefferts and either of the Simpsons than what has been written lately. Well you know what they say, you can't please everybody and I am one of the ones not pleased. I would be willing to bet I am not the only one!!

Is anyone else having extreme trouble accessing the various news groups on the bar? I can't seem to link to any of them using my screen-reader (Jaws for Windows).
Sorry for the O/T post but I can't seem to fix the problem.

Does have kind of a Ramb Rebellion feel. And yet I suspect there's going to be a tie-in for all of this soonish. Either that, or this is gonna be a very long book, which is also alright.
