I just finished reading this last night (early this morning really). I had been looking forward to this book for years, and I was not disappointed. Very well done. Hopefully we won’t have to wait another five years before we learn what happens after May of 1634.

I finished ready the whole thing this morning. I really prefer reading a paper book, but I just couldn’t wait. It was great. I agree that I don’t want to wait years for more from the Baltic.

I don’t understand all the different types of electronic availability of your files. I purchased a subscription to Jim Baens Universe magazine with earc access. When you list this earc link I can’t login. Where can I find out what I have access to and why put a link if the access is not clear.
Comment by Elisa Weiland — February 16, 2007 @ 4:14 pm
Elisa, I believe that means that you can access a JBU magazine issue before it’s official release, whereas this is a standalone work that is a separate purchase. Also, the user system for the magazine is different from Webscriptions (where the 1634:tBW eArc is sold, they’re run separately), so you’d need to register anew.
I’ll ask Rick to drop by and comment, as he knows more than I do about this.

Elisa,
Sorry about your difficulties.
Sadly, it is a complex and confusing internet out there. Let me see if I can help.
You have a membership to the Universe Club at Jim Baen’s Universe (THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!) this gives you not only the ability to read the magazine, but ALSO the ability to watch us assemble future issues! (We have some content up in the magazine for Volume 2 number 5!)
The “Earc access” links on the Jim Baen’s Universe navigation menu on the left side of JBU will take you there.
But that’s a VERY different thing from the Earc of the novel “Baltic War.”
Baen Publishing’s electronic BOOK division at http://www.webscriptions.com is a fully separate operation from JBU. They don’t share logins, or passwords, or anything. If you want to read the Earc of Baltic War, it’s $15.00 through webscriptions, and that has nothing to do with your membership to JBU. (Unless you are a high level member, Saturn or above, in which case you COULD spend a webscriptions point to buy Baltic War. In that case, please email members@baensuniverse.com and tell Paul what you want to do.)

so…The Bavarian Crisis I think I heard was finished before this one. I just polished off The Baltic War, and enjoyed it thoroughly. How long before they put out the electronic version of the sequel?

Reading the ebook for the second time. Excellent book. I can’t wait to get the print copy in my hands (somehow reading it on the computer just isn’t the same). One editorial comment. I noticed in chapter 52 the following sentence. “Hmmm . . .” Lacrosse tugged on the tip of his nose thoughtfully. Justine was the third ship in Overgaard’s formation, behind a pair of Swedish forty-gunners.” Shoudn’t Swedish be Danish? Hope this comment helps

I bought the hardcover 1634: The Baltic War a few days ago, and am enjoying it. But the CD that came with the book was seriously cracked. Is there a way to get a replacement CD, or better yet, download the CD image?
Comment by Bob Goates — July 16, 2007 @ 10:11 am
Yes, you can. If you’d like an official replacement, you can get one from Baen - I don’t recall off the top of my head what the CD replacement email address is, though. If you were to post on Baen’s Bar in the ‘Toni’s Table’ conference about it, you’re sure to get the address info in fairly short order.
You can download the CD image at all the major Baen CD repositories, including Joe Buckley’s site.
